Django Girls

If you identify as woman and want to learn how to make websites, we have good news for you: we are holding a one-day workshop for beginners!

It will take place on December 2nd, 2017 at Google's campus in Venice Beach, CA.

We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – women programmers!

Apply for the workshop!

If identify as a woman and know English, you can apply for our event! You don't need to know any technical stuff – our workshop is for people who are new to programming.

  • No laptop? No problem! You'll be able to borrow one of ours.
  • We'll feed you! Breakfast and lunch are covered by our generous sponsor, Google.

We have space only for limited people, so make sure to fill out the form very carefully.

You don't need any previous programming experience.

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I am not living in Los Angeles, can I attend?

Of course! If you need financial aid to get to the venue in Los Angeles, let us know. We'll do our best to provide any assistance we can.

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you.

We're looking for a sponsor that will help us provide laptops for future events.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

We'll help you download and install everything you need to get started. But if you're eager to start, you can read the Django Girls tutorial on installation and code editors.

Why are you doing this?

Programming is a fun and creative activity, and opens up professional opportunities. We want to make sure everyone interested in technology has a chance to participate!

Is food provided?

Yes! We'll provide breakfast and lunch. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions, so we can plan accordingly.

Be a Mentor!

We would be delighted if you would like to join us as a mentor! Contact us if you're interested ❤️
