Interested in IT but you don’t know if it’s something for you? If you are a woman and want to learn how to program, we have good news for you: we are holding a one-day free workshop for beginners In Amsterdam!
It will take place on Saturday September 21st, 2024 at the office of our sponsor Box in Amsterdam. The address is: Weesperstraat 61-105, Amsterdam, Netherlands 1018 VN.
We believe that everyone will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program, realize that everyone can do it and, hopefully, get excited about it!
Workshop is free of charge. If you are motivated to learn and then share your knowledge with others, don't wait too long: you can apply for the workshop until September 7st, 2024!

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No. Our workshop is for beginners: you don’t need to know anything about programming. However, even if you already have some technical knowledge (i.e. you know what Python, HTML or CSS are), you still can apply!
Is Django Girls Amsterdam suitable for a total beginner?
Yes! The workshop is focused on total beginners. So even though it might help to go through the tutorial sooner, you don't need to know any programming to join the workshop and finish the tutorial. We are going to reach out to you a few days prior to the workshop to help out with the installation process.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes. However, if you don't have one, please inform us early on and we will do our best to arrange a laptop for you in advance (only for exceptional cases).
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
It would be helpful if you do the installation before the workshop, it is described in the tutorial. Your coach will arrange a pre-workshop installation meeting with you, so that you can install everything together. However, if you don't have time, or face some technical difficulties, it is totally fine to wait for the workshop where your coach will support you with the installation directly.
Is food provided?
Yes. Thanks to our sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during the workshop :)
