Django Girls

We want to give you an opportunity to dip your toe into website development, learn how to program in python -- or just come to understand what it is that's going with all that typing and intimidating-looking black screens!

Programming is actually really fun: it's creative, productive and sometimes a bit like being able to do magic! We don't believe women should be as underrepresented in tech as we are, so we're trying to break down that barrier and help more women fall in love with programming.

It will take place on 1st of April at Stone and Chalk in Sydney.

We have limited space and applications are always competitive, so be sure to get in quick! We'll assess your application information and get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

Do I need to bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. We will help you install Django and Python on your laptops before the workshop. You will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Will there be food and drinks provided?

Absolutely! We've got catering and drinks, as well as some extra goodies to give you when you arrive. There will also be drinks on Saturday night after the workshop, and a post-party for everyone to catch up a couple of weeks later! All on us, of course.
