We are living in a world in which one cannot live without technology. We use it every day, but not all of us know how to shift from being only technology consumers to producing software. If you are a woman and you are interested in diving into the world of the internet with us - we have good news for you!
Just before one of the biggest Python conferences in the world, which gathers loads of talented programmers from all over the world - PyCon 2015 - starts we are holding a one-day workshop for beginners. It will take place on 9th April at Palais de Congres in Montréal.
The workshop is free of charge but you need to be in Montreal during the event. Don’t wait too long - you can apply for a pass only until 8th February! The selected participants will be notified by 22nd February.
If you are an awesome lady and you want to learn what programming is all about in a friendly environment, you know English and have a laptop - you can apply for a pass! You don’t need to know any technical stuff - workshops are for people who are new to programming.

We have very limited space for the workshop, so make sure to fill out the form very carefully! We will choose the best applications based on the criteria described here.
Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!
I am not living in Canada or US, can I attend?
Of course! The workshops will be in English (some groups can work in French), so if you have no trouble with speaking and understanding English - you should apply. You also need to be in Montreal during the workshop.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during the workshop.
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
No. We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.
Is PyCon US a conference good for a total beginner?
As a workshop attendee you will get a free ticket to the PyCon US -conference for Python programmers. Even though you are new to programming, the conference is a good place to meet many interesting people in the industry and find inspiration.
Is food provided?
Yes. We will provide food during the workshop. PyCon US will take care of the food during the conference, too.
