Code like a Girl: Build Your First Website with Django Girls Murfreesboro

Hey young ladies, are you ready to unleash your creativity? Here's an exciting opportunity just for you! Join Django Girls Murfreesboro on April 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State University, and learn to build your very first website.

This workshop is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and free for young women like you who are new to programming. You'll work in small groups with experienced mentors who will guide you through the process of building a website using the Django web framework.  This workshop is recommended for girls ages 8-16.

Breakfast and lunch will be included.

No prior programming experience is needed, just bring your interest and enthusiasm for learning. Applications will be accepted through April 10. Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I do not live in Murfreesboro, can I attend?

Of course! 

Is food provided?

Yes. Thanks to our generous sponsors, breakfast and lunch will be served during workshops.

Should I bring my own laptop?

You may bring your laptop, but we will provide the hardware, and we expect you will use our computers.

What is the recommended age for participants?

We recommend participants be 8 - 16 years old.
