Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I am not living in Abuja, can I attend?

Yes, you can! We welcome people from all over. Note however that we are unable to provide transport or accommodation support. If you will not be able to attend without support, you might be unable to participate in the workshop. Who knows Django Girls might be coming to your location next??! Do go ahead to register if you are really interested, then shoot us a mail at [email protected] explaining your circumstances and we will see what we can do. Please be aware that this is not a guarantee of support!

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but we wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own. We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task. In fact, that is what our pre-install party helps you with!

Is a Django Girls workshop good for a total beginner?

Totally! Asides what you will learn, the workshop is a good place to meet many interesting people in the industry and find inspiration.

Is food provided?

Yes! We believe people learn better when their stomachs are not rumbling and we really do want you to learn! Our fantastic sponsors have helped ensure that we can provide you with food and drinks.

Why is it important to attend the pre-install party the day before workshop?

It is super important to us that you have a chance to participate fully in the workshop and learn as much as possible without the stress of avoidable problems. In order to avoid them we would want you to join us during the pre install party! You'll not only get to have all the required software ready for the workshop but also meet your coach and fellow participants while sipping and nibbling! It will make you feel relaxed and prepared for your first adventure with programming!

Be a Coach!
