If you are a woman and want to learn how to make websites, we have good news for you: we are holding a one-day workshop for beginners!
It will take place on 24th March 2019 at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management in Mangaluru.
We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – women programmers!
This Workshop is free of charge. Don't wait too long: you can apply for the workshop only until 20th March!
If you are a woman, know English, and have a laptop, you can apply for our event! You don't need to have technical knowledge – our workshop is for people who are new to programming.
As a workshop attendee you will: attend a one-day Django workshop, during which you will create your first website
We only have space for a limited number of people, so make sure to fill out the form very carefully!
Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, even if you have a bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you may still apply!
I am not a Sahyadrian, can I attend?
As long as you are a tech enthusiast. Since this an event run by local community, we are only accepting applications from individuals who are only from Mangalore region.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.
Do I need to have anything pre-installed on my laptop, beforehand?
It would be helpful to have Git, Python, and Django installed before the workshop, but even if you don't, we will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with the Installation.
Is this workshop suitable for a total beginner?
Yes, This workshop is mainly for total beginners; we will be teaching most of the things from scratch even if you are new to programming. This Workshop is a good place to meet many interesting people and to find inspiration.
