If you identify as a woman and want to learn how to make websites, we have good news for you: we are holding a one-day workshop for beginners!
It will take place on Saturday October 6th, 2018 at MidTown Tech Hive in Cleveland.
We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – women programmers!
Workshops are free of charge and if you cannot afford coming to Cleveland but are very motivated to learn and then share your knowledge with others, we may have some funds to help you out with your travel costs and accommodation. Don't wait too long: you can apply for the workshop only until September 15th!
If you know English and have a laptop, you can apply for our event! You don't need to know any technical stuff – our workshop is for people who are new to programming. We are trans-inclusive and encourage applications from all women and non-binary people.
As a workshop attendee you will:

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!
Should I bring my own laptop?

Is food provided?
Yes. We will provide lunch and snacks - details TBD. If you have dietary restrictions please note those on the application form. These will not factor into your acceptance, and will help us provide food options for all participants.
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
We will install all necesssary software at the InstallFest on October 5th, the Friday evening before the workshop.
Will there be childcare?
We are working on it! If you know of a company who would be willing to sponsor childcare for this event, please let us know.
I'm under 18 - can I still attend?
Yes, if you are in high school and a parent or guardian attends with you.

The mission of the Python Software Foundation is to promote, protect, and advance the Python programming language, and to support and facilitate the growth of a diverse and international community of Python programmers. The majority of the PSF's work is focused on empowering and supporting people within the Python community. The PSF has active grant programs that support sprints, conferences, meet ups, user groups, and Python development efforts all over the world. In addition, the PSF underwrites and runs PyCon US, the primary Python community conference. Being part of the PSF means being part of the Python community. Recently we changed the PSF to an open membership organization, so that everyone who uses and supports Python can join. To learn more, visit https://www.python.org/psf/membership
