Would you like to learn how to build websites, but don’t know where to start? We’re hosting a free one-day workshop to teach 60-70 women how to build websites from scratch. This workshop is aimed at total beginners. You don't need to know anything about programming to participate. You just need to bring your own laptop and some curiousity :)

The main workshop will take place on the 10th of September with a pre-installation party on the 9th of September from 12:00 Noon at Andela Rooftop in Lagos,

We believe that the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us - Women Developers!

Workshops are free of charge and if you can’t afford to come to Lagos, but you are very motivated to learn and then share your knowledge with others, we are willing to help.

Applications are Now Closed!

If you already registered you will receive an email by 29th of August !! Which would inform you of the status of your application

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I don't live in Lagos, can I attend?

Of course! You should apply. If you need financial aid to get to Lagos or you need assistance with getting accommodation - let us know. We are willing to help you!

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before the workshop, but we wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own.We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.

What is the format of the workshop? What if I have trouble keeping up?

You will work in a small group of just 3 attendees. A coach will be assigned to each group, and your coach will work closely with you throughout the day to help with any problems that you may have. You will work at your own pace, assisted by your coach, so you don't need to worry about keeping up with the entire workshop.

Is food provided?

Yes. Thanks to Our Sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during the workshop.

Why is it crucial to attend the installation party the day before workshop?

It is super important to us that you have a chance to participate in the workshop to the max, learn as much as possible and don't stress about unnecessary problems. In order to avoid them we would want you to join us during the installation party! You'll have a chance not only to get all the required software ready for the workshop but also meet your coach and your group members while drinking some cool juice and having some snacks! It will make you feel relaxed and prepared for your first adventure with programming! Trust us!

Am I too young/old to apply?

No! We have no upper or lower age limit for the workshop. We feel that women of any age can be highly motivated to learn and succeed in this field. . All applications will be considered according to criteria similar to those described here
