Let us help you in jump-starting your journey in tech. Spend a day with our awesome coaches who will guide you in making your first website. You can also explore our campus and annual techfest i-fest during your visit.

Our one-day workshop will take place on 13th October 2019 at DAIICT Campus in Gandhinagar.

We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – women programmers!

It is a free and beginner-friendly workshop. We do not expect you to have prior programming experience. You’ll be able to learn at your own pace with the help of our coaches. Our applications open soon. Stay tuned.

Apply for the workshop!

If you are a woman, understand English and can bring a laptop, you can apply for our event! You don't need to know any technical stuff – we would help you in figuring it all out.

As a workshop attendee you will:

  • attend a one-day Django workshop during which you will learn in a small group with other participants and your coach.
  • be fed by us: during our event, food is provided

We have space only for 80 people, and we would be selecting applications on the basis of how much value can our workshop bring into your life and your journey of getting started in tech. So make sure to fill out the application form very carefully!

Applications will open on 13th September

Stay tuned!

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I am not living in Gandhinagar, can I attend?

Of course! The workshop will be in English, so if you can comprehend English - you should apply. However, we might not help you with financial aid to get to Gandhinagar.

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

What is the format of the workshop?

You will work in a small group of just 2 to 3 attendees. A coach will be assigned to each group, and your coach will work closely with you throughout the day to help with any problems that you may have. You will work at your own pace, assisted by your coach, so you don't need to worry about keeping up with the entire workshop.

Can I attend the i-fest too?

As a workshop attendee, you will get a one-day free ticket to explore our i-fest on 13th October. The i-fest hosts many interesting tech-events and you’ll find an amazing crowd of intellectuals to explore and network with. Even though you are new to programming, i-fest is a great place to meet many interesting people in the academia and industry to find inspiration.

What are the criteria for choosing applicants?

We have a scoring system based on criteria similar to those described here. Our goal is to find people for whom this event can be a truly life-changing opportunity, who are motivated enough to continue learning on their own, who are not afraid of challenges, who will become a part of the community and will encourage others to learn to programme.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own.We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.

I am not a woman. Can I apply for this workshop?

Yes! You can apply. Preference will be given to women applicants in accordance with the goals of the organization, and we appreciate your drive to learn.

Can I have a certificate at the end of the workshop?

We're not a formal training program with examinations so we can't deliver official certificates. However, we can give cute souvenir certificates to attendees and coaches.

Is food provided?

Yes,Thanks to our sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during workshops.
