Django Girls workshop

If you personally identify as a woman and want to learn how to make websites, we have good news for you: we are holding a free one and a half day workshop for beginners!

Join us on 10 December 2016 at Springload in Wellington where we’ll be giving women the chance to learn about programming and to ultimately build their own website.

Django Girls Wellington is a course aimed at complete beginners. You don’t need to know anything about programming, we just expect you to bring your own laptop, to be able to commit the evening of Friday 9th December and all-day Saturday 10th December and to have a sufficient understanding of English so you’re able to follow our English tutorial.

We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us – female programmers!

Please note: it is not a requirement to attend our Friday evening setup session. Although if you can it would be very helpful, as this will be a bit of an introduction and a meet and greet.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

That's what our installation party on Friday night is for! We wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own. Our coaches will be running through everything we will need on Friday night.

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Our workshop is for complete beginners. You don’t need to know anything about programming. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Is food provided?

Yes. Thanks to our sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during the workshop.

Become a coach!

We would be delighted if you could join us as a coach at Django Girls Wellington! Email us a little about yourself and we will be in touch!
