This event is designed to encourage women to dive into the world of tech, but other gender are also very welcome to join our one-day beginner workshop on website development!

It will take place on Saturday, 29 November, 2025 at Vaasa Startup Factory.

We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to allow you to learn how to program and become one of us – programmers!👩‍💻💻🧑‍💻

If you're into tech, know English, and have a laptop, this is a great opportunity to apply for our event! You don't need to know any technical stuff, our workshop is for people who are new to programming.💻✌️

✅As a workshop attendee you will:

Attend a one-day Django workshop during which you will create your first website

Throughout the event, we’ll provide refreshments to keep you energized and focused.

We have space only for 30 people, so make sure to fill out the form very carefully.

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e., you know what HTML or CSS are), you still can apply!

I don't speak Finnish or Swedish, can I still attend?

Of course! Workshops will be in English, so if you have no trouble speaking and understanding English, you should apply.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but we wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own. We will ensure that one of our coaches assists you with this task.

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Is the Django Girls Vaasa good for a total beginner?

As a workshop attendee, you will get a free ticket to Django Girls Vaasa for Python programmers. Even though you are new to programming, the event is a good place to meet many interesting people in the industry and find inspiration.

Is food provided?

We are still negotiating with sponsors to provide food, but thanks to the Startup Factory, there is coffee available at the venue.
