Django Girls

Would you like to learn about how to build websites, but don’t know where to start? We’re hosting a free workshop to teach 40 women how to build websites from scratch.

It will take place on 26th May 2018 at Collegio Fonda in Trieste.

We believe the IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become one of us!

This workshop is aimed at total beginners. You don't need to know anything about programming to participate. You just need to bring your own laptop on Saturday, May 26, and have a sufficient understanding of Italian or English to follow our tutorial.

Workshops are free of charge and women from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. You'll work through a tutorial in small groups of three with a coach, so you'll be able to learn at your own pace.

We are trans-inclusive and encourage applications from all women.

As a workshop attendee you will:

• attend a one-day Django workshop during which you will create your first website
• meet people from the industry and learn more about programming
• be fed by us: during our event, food is provided

Ti piacerebbe imparare come costruire siti ma non sai da che parte iniziare? Organizziamo un workshop gratuito per insegnare a 40 donne come costruire un sito partendo dalle basi.

Crediamo che l'industria IT trarrà grandi benefici dal portare più donne nel mondo della tecnologia. Vogliamo darti un'opportunità per imparare come programmare e diventare una dei nostri!

Questo workshop è rivolto alle principianti. Non occorre che tu sappia nulla di programmazione per poter partecipare. Devi solo portare il tuo computer sabato 26 maggio e possedere una comprensione dell'italiano (o dell'inglese) sufficiente da seguire il nostro tutorial.

I workshop sono gratuiti e le donne provenienti da qualsiasi background sono invitate a partecipare. Vi muoverete in piccoli gruppi coordinate da un coach, così da apprendere secondo il vostro ritmo.

Siamo trans-inclusive e incoraggiamo la partecipazione di tutte le donne.

Cosa Faremo:

Non hai bisogno di alcuna conoscenza tecnica pregressa. Questo corso è per principianti.

In qualità di partecipante:

• parteciperai ad un workshop Django di una giornata durante il quale creerai il tuo primo blog
• incontrerai persone del settore e imparerai di più sulla programmazione
• pranzerai con noi - serviremo tutti i pasti nel corso del workshop!

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

I am not living in Trieste, can I attend?

Of course! Workshops will be in italian and English, so if you have no troubles with speaking and understanding these languages - you should apply. If you need assistance with booking flights or hotel - let us know. We are willing to help you!

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own.We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.

Is food provided?

Yes, snacks and lunch will be served during workshops.

Devo possedere conoscenze di programmazione?

No! I workshop sono per principianti. Non hai bisogno di sapere niente al riguardo. Se hai un po' di conoscenze tecnologiche (ovvero, sai cosa sono HTML e CSS) puoi partecipare comunque!

Non vivo in Italia, posso partecipare?

Certo! Ricorda però che i workshop saranno in italiano (e inglese), quindi se non hai difficoltà nel parlare e capire la lingua potrai aderire. Se hai bisogno di assistenza con la prenotazione del biglietto aereo o con gli hotel a Trieste facci sapere. Saremo felici di aiutarti!

Devo portare il mio computer?

Sì. Non abbiamo hardware, quindi vorremmo che tu portassi il tuo computer. Per noi è importante che tu riesca a portare a casa il blog che hai creato durante il workshop.

Devo installare qualcosa sul mio computer?

Sarebbe utile avere Django installato prima del workshop ma non pretendiamo che installi nulla da sola. Ci assicureremo che uno dei nostri coach ti aiuti con questo task.

È previsto un rinfresco?

Sì, tutti i pasti saranno serviti durante il workshop
