Django Girls is a non-profit organization that wants to bring more women into the wonderful world of programming and technology. We're organising a free, one-day workshop for beginners that will teach you how to create a website using Python and Django.
It will take place on 5th of October 2019 in Berlin
We believe that IT industry will greatly benefit from bringing more women into technology. We want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program and become part of the technology community!
Workshops are free of charge.
We are thrilled to announce that MotionLab will be hosting us for our next edition of Django Girls Berlin.
Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!
I am not living in Berlin, can I attend?
Of course! If you are able to make it to Berlin, workshops will be in English, so if you have no trouble with speaking and understanding English - you can apply.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
It would be helpful to have Python and Django installed before workshops, but it is not necessary. We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.
Is food provided?
Yes. Thanks to our sponsors, breakfast, snacks and lunch will be served during workshops.
Can I bring my children?
Yes! We will be offering childcare to those that require it, more details will follow via email after the application deadline
We couldn't be here without the support from amazing people and organizations who donated money, knowledge, space and time to help us make this a reality. If you want to contribute and support our goal, please get in touch: [email protected]
During the workshops you'll work in small groups of 3 women. Each group will be tutored by one coach who will be experienced members of Django community who volunteer their time, knowledge and energy for Django Girls.
We hope that you enjoyed and were inspired by the workshop, to help you keep learning we have added some great meetup groups and you can find a bunch of links to further tutorials here. Good luck! :)
